1. Coronet Peak Viewing Platform
Picture-perfect views of snow covered mountains and lakes overlooking Queenstown, and the best place to see all of this is from the viewing platform at Coronet Peak. Wether you are tagging along for the experience or here for night ski, hop on a gondola and soak up the magical views.
2. Greengates
The views on this side of Coronet Peak are rather amazing on the best of days, but simply spectacular after a decent snow storm. Head up the Greengates chair lift and alight off to skiers left and take in the views of Mt Larkins, Mt. Aurum and the glacially covered Mt. Earnslaw. Amazing skiing to be had out here too on a powder day.
3. The Remarkables Lookout
The vista from The Remarkables Lookout are some of the best views in Queenstown. Take the ski lift up Shadow Basin, navigate your way up the treacherous little goat track, enjoy the views of lakes and mountains. For some added spice ski off the top and down into the resort. Serious caution advised, there are some high consequence drop-offs.
4. Broughs Lane
This cute little run takes you from Greengates lift down to Upper Walkabout and beyond. Part way down there is a ridge line on skier right. This is a great spot to hike to and look out Northwest towards The Main Divide, with amazing views in all directions this is a much overlooked spot for taking in your surroundings.
5. Alta Chutes Lookout
Skiing down Alta Chutes on a powder day at The Remarkables should be on everyones wishlist. Once you’ve made the somewhat arduous bootpack to the ridge line and skied your way down skiers left of Alta Chute, you might be privy to views over Arrowtown and beyond. Jaw-droppingly good !!
